Amelia Smyth is a Program Manager at Resilient Cities Catalyst where she works to support a wide array of projects in North America. In this capacity, Amelia supports program delivery and development across the Resilient Neighborhoods Program and on special initiatives across the organization.

Amelia transitioned into her current role after interning at RCC. As a COVID-19 Economic Recovery Intern, Amelia supported the development of the Neighborhood Economic Resilience Assessment. The assessments provide a snapshot of the neighborhood-level economy in various cities in the United States as they recover from COVID-19.

In addition to this experience, Amelia interned at a series of organizations that expanded her knowledge of socioeconomic resilience and fragility locally and internationally. At the International Rescue Committee, Amelia worked alongside the regional director to better understand the impact of COVID-19 and the 2020 presidential election on refugees in the United States. Prior to that work, Amelia interned at the Fund For Peace where she collaborated with senior staff on country risk and vulnerability assessments among other international development projects. She also worked at TransitCenter where she contributed to advocacy campaigns and preliminary research on the impacts of inequitable transit access in New York City.

Amelia holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Public Policy, Economics, and Jewish Studies from The City College of New York where she was the Salutatorian of the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership. While at CCNY she was awarded the Jeannette K. Watson Fellowship and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
