Andrew Brenner
Lead Communications Advisor
Andrew Brenner is Lead Communications Advisor for Resilient Cities Catalyst (RCC), providing guidance on communications strategy, media relations, and messaging. Andrew has 15 years of experience spanning political communications and advocacy, philanthropy, resilience, and social impact nonprofits. Andrew also serves as Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Partnership for a Healthier America where he leads all communications efforts for the public health organization founded in conjunction with Former First Lady Michelle Obama. Previously, as Director of Global Communications at 100 Resilient Cities - Pioneered by The Rockefeller Foundation (100RC), Andrew led the organization’s diverse team of communications experts and served on the executive team. Operating across six continents and 100 cities, the 100RC Communications team provided strategic communications guidance and expertise not just to the organization, but to the cities, Chief Resilience Officers, partners, and mayors that comprised the 100RC Network. His work resulted in thousands of media hits for 100RC, its partners, and member cities, including outlets such as The New York Times, CNN, Bloomberg, CityLab, and the Guardian.Prior to 100RC, Andrew served as an Assistant Vice President at Widmeyer Communications – A Finn Partners Company, leading work for numerous education and philanthropic clients, including the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Nobel Laureate James Heckman, and the First Five Years Fund. He also previously served as a Senior Consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton where he provided communications and consulting support to several U.S. Department of Defense clients, and as a Senior Associate at Kennedy Communications, a Washington, DC-based boutique political communications firm, providing strategic communications guidance and qualitative political research. Andrew began his career in the Democratic campaign world, volunteering and working on various campaigns, including for the New York State Democratic Party in 2006 and Obama for America in 2007-08.
