Mbacke Faye

Mbacke N'Diaye Faye is the Associate Director at Resilient Cities Catalyst (RCC), where she works on Resilience Neighborhoods Program and  leverages her expertise in strategic development to foster partnerships, and drive innovative resilience solutions for local governments and communities. 

Previously, Mbacke served as a Senior Urban Planner at the Newark Downtown District (NDD), where she led the Urban Planning Department in overseeing streetscape improvement projects, creating and activating public spaces, and managing data collection and analysis. Her experience includes working closely with stakeholders, businesses, and municipal bodies to foster partnerships and drive impactful projects.

Holding a Master's Degree in Urban and Environmental Planning and Policy from Tufts University in Medford, MA, Mbacke also interned with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) as a Policy Aide Intern and GIS Specialist. In this role, she analyzed transit usage patterns and performance data for the MBTA, employing ArcMap for geospatial analysis to drive transportation innovation and inform policy development. Her thesis on public transit accessibility sharpened her knowledge of equitable transportation planning and its critical role in community development.

Mbacke began her career with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from Suffolk University in Boston, MA, gaining extensive experience with environmental organizations dedicated to building sustainable and resilient communities, such as Gardens for Health International and Earthwatch Institute. This involvement provided her with practical insights into sustainable practices and reinforced her dedication to environmental stewardship.
